Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide safety, stability, and opportunity for families in crisis through emergency shelter and comprehensive support services.

Program Summary

The Greeley Transitional House is celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2010!  We are pleased to have provided 25 years of emergency shelter and supportive services for over 1,200 families.  We are a temporary residential emergency shelter providing case management support, life skills classes, emergency resources, information and referral, and follow-up transitional housing support.  We serve approximately 100 families each year (over 300 individuals) in our 12-room facility at 1206 10th Street in downtown Greeley.

Wish List

We welcome financial and in-kind donations from the community.  Our in-kind needs include all household items:  furniture, kitchen appliances, pots & pans, dishes, flatware, linens, towels...virtually anything a family would need starting out on their own.  We also supply a small food pantry to help the families with food when they arrive.  Hygiene supplies, cleaning supplies, diapers, feminine hygiene items, and formula are also welcome.  For more ideas visit our website at: www.greeleytransitionalhouse.org.

Client Story

Kacy and her two young daughters lived at GTH for about two months.  At first her case manager had a hard time convincing her of the importance of enrolling in the TANF program and putting her children in daycare in order to finish her schooling to eventually achieve a better paying job.  Fortunately she followed her case manager’s advice and enrolled in TANF and applied for childcare assistance.  Kacy complied with the TANF program requirements for education and job readiness, and consequently completed her GED in December.  She is now attending classes at IBMC and is on her way to finishing schooling and ultimately achieving a better paying job.  Through the GTH program we were able to help her find housing at Woodside Apts. and we are pleased to report that she is stable with her housing and finances.  She is also in compliance with all of our Follow-up program requirements.
