Mission Statement

Mission Statement:
The High Plains Library District Foundation's mission is to cultivate information, inspiration and entertainment for our communities by raising funds to support the literacy programs, capital and technology improvements of High Plains Library District's libraries.

Program Summary

Program Summary:
Used book sales in each branch library go to support the HPLD Summer Reading Program. Other funds raised via special events, gift shop sales and undesignated donations are managed through an internal grant process when budgeted funds are exhausted.

Wish List

Organizational Wish List:

$100,000 for a three year Tutor.com pilot program to support students throughout Weld County in their learning efforts outside of school hours

$ 30,000 annually to produce cultural and "edutaining" literacy programs for all ages (Hip Hop Youth Mentoring Program, book to movie clubs, Twinkle Babies, artist/instructor fees, materials for crafts)

$ 20,000 annually for Summer Reading Program materials and programs

$ 40,000 annually for Bookmobile and outreach visits to schools, senior centers, etc.

$ 50,000 for a literacy playground at Farr Regional Library in Greeley

$ 5,000 annually for the Teen Writers Conference (author and materials)

We are the social gathering place where families connect and friendships are made. The mom who meets new friends when she brings her children to a story time or educational program. The widow who finds comfort surrounded by life. The parent who helps their child with research for a school project or common hobby.
