Windsor Community Foundation adds two new funds
The Windsor Community Founation, an affiliate fund of the Community Foundation, is excited to announce two new funds; the Lauren Johnson Safe Environment Fund and the Robert and Lena Ochsner Designated Fund!

The Robert and Lena Ochsner Designated Fund, created by a generous donation from Windsor residents Robert and Lena Ochsner, will support a sophomore, junior, or senior student who is a graduate of Windsor High School who is attending Colorado State University and enrolled in the College of Agricultural Sciences or College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. This fund us will support an annual scholarship for eligible students.

Students who think they may qualify for this scholarship should contact the financial aid office at Colorado State University for more information.

The Lauren Johnson Safe Environment Fund has been established in memory of Lauren Johnson, who died after suffering carbon monoxide poisoning. This fund will focus on providing carbon monoxide detectors for residential use in Windsor and the surrounding area where none currently exist and where limited resources may prohibit the purchase of such an item. Additional community safety concerns may be addressed as well.

Lauren Johnson was 23 and a student at the University of Denver, where she was studying international human rights. She grew up in Windsor and was a graduate of Windsor High School.
